[.009] 저는 정말 행복해요~

안녕하세요!

I’m still so excited that I needed to write a post about it to calm down, haha… >_<

So, there’s a kpop group that I like REALLY much. I mean, they were one of the main reasons that made me try to learn korean again! AAAAAAND THEY’RE COMING TO MY COUNTRY, MY CITY AND I’M GOING TO SEE THEM, SING WITH THEM, TOUCH THEM!!! OMG, I kinda still can’t believe it’s happening! They’ll hold a fanmeeting here in my city (the only one in South America) and there were only 2000 tickets available and I managed to get one! Better than that, I managed to get one of the 200 tickets for doing a high five with them! Yep, just two hundred tickets and they sold out IN LESS THAN 2 MINUTES! I’m one of the lucky 200 fans that are going to be face to face with them, touch their hands and even talk quickly to them! This is just AMAZING! ❤

I have a month to learn enough korean to say all the things I want to say to them and to write a letter to each member… I guess it’ll be a tough challenge, right? ^^ Let’s see how it will be!

If anyone here is interested, here is one of their songs 🙂 I highly recommend everyone here to read the lyrics! They talk about not leaving your dreams behind to follow what your family want (because you’re probably going to be unhappy in the future) and about the pressure that korean students feel to be the first of the class, to be in one of the main Korean universities (they even mention SKY, which actually is an abbreviation for the three top universities in Korea). There’s a part of the lyrics that says:

“어른들이 하는 고백 너넨 참 편한 거래
분에 넘치게 행복한 거래
그럼 이렇게도 불행한 나는 뭔데
공부 외엔 대화주제가 없어
밖엔 나 같은 애가 넘쳐 똑같은 꼭두각시 인생
도대체 누가 책임져줘?

The grown-ups confess that we have it so easy
They say that we are happier than our portion
Then how do you explain my unhappiness?
There’s no conversation topics beside studying
Outside, there are so many kids like me, living the life of a puppet
Who will take responsibility?”

It’s not a secret that asian students have a lot of pressure on their shoulders but I just want to say once more how good music is to help you to understand the culture of a country… You may not like the sound, but if you read the lyrics, you’ll be able to know better how people from this country think, in my opinion. 🙂

That’s it for today! ^^
